Statement on Nagorno-Karabakh to Be Released Soon, Not an Agreement – Zakharova
The statement regarding the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, will be released in the near future. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a broadcast on 'Echo of Moscow.'
“According to the president's statement, a declaration (not an agreement, as the media are calling it) has been signed, declaring a ceasefire. This announcement will be published. There are texts circulating on the internet, but I cannot confirm them. I can only say that the actual declaration will be released soon,” Zakharova stated. She added that the announcement would be distributed on international platforms.
Previously, it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had adopted a joint statement regarding the cessation of military operations. Prime Minister Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that he had made an extremely difficult decision, both personally and for everyone involved. He noted that he had signed the statement with the Russian and Azerbaijani presidents to cease hostilities at 01:00, emphasizing that this decision was made following a thorough analysis of the military situation and evaluations from those best acquainted with it, based on the conviction that this was the best possible resolution under the circumstances.
