Lavrov and Cavusoglu Discuss the Situation Around Nagorno-Karabakh
The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, has discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to TASS, citing sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Specific details have not been disclosed.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia have reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the region. In turn, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he has signed a declaration to cease hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh war at 01:00 hours.
'The text of the declaration, which has already been published, is incredibly painful for me personally and for our people. I made this decision after a deep analysis of the military situation and based on the assessments of those who are best versed in it. Also, relying on the conviction that in this created situation, this is the ONLY best resolution possible. I will present a detailed message regarding all this in the coming days,' he said.
