This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a video conference meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad on November 9.
Putin emphasized that Russia continues to make active efforts towards "the long-term settlement in the Syrian Republic, supporting the restoration of its sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity."
"In this regard, it is also important to note the effectiveness of the work carried out within the framework of the Astana conference with the participation of our partners from Iran and Turkey," said the Russian leader. "Joint efforts have enabled us to achieve a lot; the center of international terrorism in Syria has essentially been destroyed."
Moreover, according to Putin, the level of violence in Syria has significantly decreased, peaceful life is being restored, and an exceptional political process is underway under the auspices of the United Nations," TASS reported.
