Russian Helicopter Crashes and Catches Fire in Ararat Province, RA MES Reports

On November 9, at 18:39, the Ararat regional crisis management center received a report that a Russian helicopter had crashed and caught fire in a ravine on the road from the village of Yeraskh to the village of Paruyr Sevak.

This information was provided by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

Emergency response teams from the regional rescue administration and three firefighting units were dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that a Russian Mi-24 helicopter had crashed in a field at the 2 km mark on the Yeraskh-Paruyr Sevak road and subsequently caught fire. According to preliminary reports, there are two casualties.

The fire was contained by 19:48 and extinguished by 20:11.
