The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that a Mi-24 Russian helicopter escorted a convoy of Russian troops in Armenia and came under fire in the area between the villages of Yeraskh and Paruyr Sevak. This information was shared by the baghramyan26 Telegram channel.
Updated: The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the helicopter, located near the village of Yeraskh in Armenia, was shot down. According to РИА Новости, the helicopter was hit by a mobile surface-to-air missile system.
"On November 9, around 17:30 Moscow time, while flying in the area of the convoy from the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia, the Russian Mi-24 helicopter was shot down by a mobile surface-to-air missile system near the village of Yeraskh, close to the border with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. As a result of the incident, the helicopter was destroyed after crashing in mountainous terrain," the Ministry of Defense's statement reads.
