Russian and French Presidents Discuss Nagorno-Karabakh Issue
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. This information was reported by the official website of the Kremlin.
During the call, the two leaders expressed serious concern about the ongoing large-scale military operations in the conflict zone and the increased involvement of extremists transferred from Syria and Libya as they discussed the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.
Vladimir Putin detailed to Emmanuel Macron the steps being taken by Russia aimed at a swift cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations conducive to a political and diplomatic resolution. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue coordinated mediation efforts between Russia and France, including within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
