Yolyan Hematology Center Urgently Needs Blood Donors
The R. H. Yolyan Hematology Center has issued a statement announcing an urgent need for blood. "Dear compatriots, we urgently require first group negative blood (O (I) RH-), third group positive and negative blood (B(III) RH+, B(III) RH-), and fourth group positive and negative blood (AB(IV) RH+, AB(IV) RH-). Please come with your identification from 09:00 to 13:00," the statement says.
Absolute contraindications for becoming a blood donor include infectious diseases such as HIV infection, viral hepatitis, any historical laboratory-positive results for viral hepatitis, syphilis, all forms of tuberculosis, brucellosis, etc. Other contraindications include several diseases of the cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and digestive systems, malignant tumors, blood diseases, and more.
In addition to permanent contraindications, individuals belonging to certain risk groups are also excluded from blood donation, including homosexuals, sex workers, individuals in detention facilities, patients and carriers of viral hepatitis, as well as family members of individuals living with AIDS and HIV.
