Video: Exclusive Details on the Involvement of Terrorist Organizations in Ongoing Military Operations

The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia has presented exclusive details regarding the involvement of terrorist organizations in the ongoing military operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Below is the statement released by the NSS of Armenia.

“As a result of ongoing exceptional operational-intelligence activities conducted by the NSS of Armenia, undeniable evidence has been obtained that militants affiliated with terrorist organizations such as 'Al-Nusra,' 'Sultan Murad,' 'Hayat Tahrir al-Sham,' and 'Huras al-Din,' operating with Azerbaijani-Turkish funding, have crossed the border from the Syrian Arab Republic into Turkey with the escort of the Turkish armed forces. After undergoing special training, they were flown to Azerbaijan to participate in the military actions unleashed against Artsakh.

Specifically, substantiated new data has been obtained that mercenaries participating in military operations under the command of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces include:

• Abu Steff al-Hindawi, a member of the so-called Syrian National Army under Turkish control;
• Ahmad al-Tayeb, from the city of Idlib in Syria, who studied at Aleppo University and resides in the Turkish city of Reyhanlı near the Turkish-Syrian border;
• Abu Diab Halab.

Evidence confirming the participation of the above-mentioned individuals as mercenaries in the military operations unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh has been forwarded to the investigative authorities. Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, Abu Steff al-Hindawi, Ahmad al-Tayeb, and Abu Diab Halab, currently active participants in the combat operations, have been charged, and a petition has been submitted to the court to apply a detention measure against them. Additionally, a search warrant has been issued for them.

Moreover, as a result of the measures taken, information regarding more than 20 additional mercenaries participating in the military operations has been clarified, including Abu Araba Hasan, Abu Shahir Bzaan, Mahmoud Abu Muhammad, Hamud Telkin, Abu Bashir Maaran, and others, who are also currently actively engaged in the military actions initiated against Artsakh.

The NSS of Armenia has shared the identified information regarding these individuals with various international organizations and the intelligence services of partner countries to obtain additional information, as well as for their detention and prosecution should they be discovered in any country.

Operational-investigative measures have also revealed the sources of funding for terrorist groups, methods of recruitment, and the specific routes for transporting individuals from Syria and other countries to Azerbaijan via Turkey.

Additionally, in recent days, further information has been obtained through the cooperation of two detained terrorists regarding their instructions received while in Azerbaijan. Specifically, before being deployed to the battlefield, militants were instructed to leave no living being in Armenian villages, with a promised reward of $100 for each killed Armenian. Not all families of terrorists killed in Azerbaijan have received the promised compensations; many families of these militants in Syria were not informed about the deaths of numerous fighters, which has raised discontent among the members of terrorist groups brought to Azerbaijan.

Operational intelligence has also indicated that after the active military operations in Artsakh conclude, these terrorist groups do not plan to return to Syria but are looking to find ways to illegally infiltrate various countries in the region to carry out terrorist activities. Work in this direction continues.”
