Trump Will Not Surrender. These Elections Are Unique. Suren Sarkisyan
American expert Suren Sarkisyan writes on his Facebook page: “The American electoral crisis. These elections are unique: Trump has garnered about 5 million more votes than in the previous election. Biden has received more votes than any president in the history of the U.S. Approximately 100 million people have voted by mail, which is an unprecedented number.
However, at this moment, Biden seems to have surpassed Trump by just one electoral vote. Such close numbers in a presidential election inevitably lead to a strong challenge from the other candidate, as preliminary data shows that Trump will have 268 votes. This is why Biden's victory is being delegitimized, and Trump is refusing to concede defeat.
For already the second day, the results of the elections are being counted and recounted in several states. Trump is challenging the results. He finds it suspicious that in the last moments of counting, in various states where he was leading, the Democrats received additional votes and surged ahead.
As I stated previously, under such circumstances, a victory for Trump would be heroic; however, Biden's victory will not come easily either. Trump will not surrender and will fight until all legal and political mechanisms are exhausted. He cannot accept defeat because of just 2-3 votes, especially if he harbors doubts about the counts. For now, Trump remains president until January 20, with all consequential implications.”
