I Don't Know What They Were Thinking in Baku: Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in the National Assembly

Our compatriots in Artsakh and the Armenian people today are fighting against three enemies: Turkey, international terrorist militants, and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Armenia's Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan during the parliamentary discussions on the 2021 budget draft.

According to Mnatsakanyan, the presence of terrorists in our region poses a challenge that extends far beyond our immediate concerns. “The consequences are truly serious. I do not know what they were thinking in Baku when they involved those militants in this war. It poses a danger to the entire region and not just our own,” he said.

The Foreign Minister noted that this is a new reality in our region, which brings about a new framework of priorities regarding regional counter-terrorism objectives. “There is a framework for international cooperation and various regional platforms that we are engaged with, but since September 27, we have a situation that directly pertains to our region. One of our important functions is to organize more targeted and robust actions to combat this reality in the region. This threat is going to extend beyond our region and poses risks to other countries as well. In our struggle against this phenomenon, we must build more solid capabilities,” Mnatsakanyan added.
