Fighting Continued Throughout the Night, No Moment of Break, Despite Decreased Activity: Hovhannisyan
The operational-tactical situation at the borders of Artsakh was presented today by the representative of the Ministry of Defense, Arzroun Hovhannisyan, at the Armenian Information Unified Center.
"Fighting continued throughout the night; there was not a moment of pause, although the activity has decreased. The continuation of the battles depends on the diversionary groups located in the forests, communities, roads, and other places near the city of Shushi, which are attempting to solve certain problems by all means. In the morning, the fighting intensified again with the use of artillery. During the day, the Azerbaijani armed forces attempted to advance in small groups in the northern and central directions, particularly around the Red Market area, supported by artillery fire, but they were repelled, sustaining certain losses.
Regarding the diversionary groups in the forests and ravines near Shushi's surrounding communities, they mainly do not engage in prolonged battles against the resistance of our armed forces' various units. Throughout the day, several of them were encircled and eliminated, causing losses that expelled them from those positions," Hovhannisyan said, emphasizing that they are searching for the attackers to eliminate them.
“All saboteurs and mercenaries who aim to present their flag, raise the spirit of the Azerbaijani army, and showcase the November 9 formal and victorious display of their flag in certain areas are doomed to fail,” stated the Ministry of Defense representative.
“The representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces and the mercenaries in their small groups will not succeed because the residents of Shushi and the surrounding communities are protecting their homes with weapons in hand. Some areas continue to experience fighting and will continue to do so, but the situation is not critical. There are difficulties—technical and logistical—but the 'Gyorgabgyor' operation will continue. Those ravines and forests will become a hell for them,” concluded the Ministry of Defense representative.
