Changes in the Process of Self-Isolation and Coronavirus Testing Upon Entering Armenia

On October 31, 2020, the Government of Armenia adopted decision N 1756-N, which amended the process of self-isolation and coronavirus testing upon entering Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports.

According to the mentioned decision, if an individual presents a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to entering Armenia, along with supporting documentation, they are exempt from self-isolation. If a negative COVID-19 test is not available, the individual is required to undergo mandatory testing at the airport or at sampling points located at the land border crossing, and must self-isolate until receiving a negative PCR test result.

Under the new government decision, a negative result certificate for the coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test must be presented upon entry into Armenian territory, with a maximum validity of 72 hours. The certificate must be in Armenian, Russian, or English. It must be accompanied by a signed and stamped form that includes all contact details of the organization conducting the test, the name of the director, the name and surname of the tested individual, the ID number of the individual, date of birth, and the test result.

The health and labor inspection authority will conduct an immediate examination at the border crossing point (including remote temperature measurement, external inspection, and additional inquiries in case of symptoms indicative of infection), and will verify the presence of the certificate. Based on the results of the examination, the individual will be hospitalized if relevant symptoms are present. If the required certificate is not available and hospitalization is unnecessary, in all other cases, the individual must undergo PCR testing at the airport or at sampling points located at the land border crossing and self-isolate until a negative PCR test result is obtained.

Sampling points will conduct the sampling and enter the individual's data into the ARMRED system based on the identification document, verifying the authenticity of the contact phone number by calling the provided number. After sampling, individuals will receive a document confirming the sampling and self-isolation registration from the sampling point.

The cost of the PCR test will be borne by the arriving individual. The results of the PCR test will be recorded in the ARMRED system and provided to the tested individual no later than 48 hours. In case of a negative PCR test result, the individual will exit self-isolation,

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
