VIDEO: 7 Dead in Shootings by Unknown Individual in Vienna
An unknown individual opened fire at a synagogue in the center of Vienna, the capital of Austria. Sounds of explosions were also reported. Local media report seven casualties.
The Austrian Ministry of Interior does not rule out the possibility of terrorism. The police have urged not to post photos and videos from the scene on social media, citing that it could endanger both emergency service personnel and local residents.
It is worth recalling that earlier, on October 29, around 50 Turkish nationals stormed the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Vienna's Favoriten district, chanting 'Allahu Akbar,' kicking benches and the confessional.
