Trump: The US Stands with Europe in the Fight Against Extreme Islamist Terrorism

US President Donald Trump has addressed the terrorist attack that occurred in Vienna on November 2, highlighting the United States' commitment to combating extreme Islamism.

“Our prayers are with the people of Vienna in the aftermath of these despicable acts of terrorism. These monstrous attacks against innocent people must be stopped. The US stands with Austria, France, and all of Europe in the fight against terrorism, including extreme Islamist terrorism,” Trump stated on Twitter.

An unknown individual opened fire at a synagogue in the Austrian capital, Vienna, and subsequently detonated an explosive device. The Austrian Interior Ministry has declared that the incident was a terrorist attack, resulting in multiple fatalities. Media reports indicate that alongside the gunfire, terrorists took a group of people hostage in a Japanese restaurant on the other side of the city. One police officer was killed in the ensuing shootout, with the attacks taking place in several locations across the city.
