Prime Minister Appeals to Putin
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 31, detailing the situation created by the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and the challenges that have arisen.
In the letter, it was particularly emphasized the issue of transporting foreign militant terrorists from the Middle East and their involvement in combat operations against Nagorno-Karabakh.
Taking into account the proximity of hostilities to the borders of the Republic of Armenia and the facts of violations that have already occurred regarding the territory of Armenia, the Prime Minister has appealed to the Russian President to commence immediate consultations to define the types and extent of support that the Russian Federation can provide to the Republic of Armenia for ensuring its security, based on the allied relations between Armenia and Russia and Article 2 of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance signed on August 29, 1997.
