Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Amendments to Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Resolution

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has stated during a meeting with reporters that there are specific amendments regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“For now, there are quite specific amendments that have been made within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. At present, this is precisely what we are talking about,” Rudenko said.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that Moscow supports a political resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “We unambiguously proceed from the fact that there can be no military resolution to this conflict. The solution must be only political, comprehensive, taking into account the interests of all parties involved,” he noted.

He also highlighted that it is still too early to discuss a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. “Negotiations are currently being held at the expert level, first of all, within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. It is too early to talk about anything else,” he stated.

According to him, Moscow generally “prefers not to politicize the issue of resolving Nagorno-Karabakh.”
