No Bonuses Planned for October, Says Head of State Revenue Committee
Focusing so much on bonuses, on these inquiries, if the aim is to eliminate these bonuses, then they lead nowhere. This was stated by the Head of the State Revenue Committee, Edward Hovhannisyan, during a conversation with journalists in parliament, responding to a question about the amount of the bonus fund for the State Revenue Committee in the 2021 state budget.
“There have been multiple explanations regarding this matter; they are measures aimed at providing equivalent compensation, and bonuses should exist. The program specifies the amount; at this moment, I find it difficult to say,” said Hovhannisyan.
In response to a remark that there is a public demand for high-ranking officials to donate their bonuses to a fund for the soldiers' safety or a pan-Armenian fund, the Head of the State Revenue Committee replied, “From the very first day of military operations, the employees of the State Revenue Committee have been very active in this regard; funds have been collected multiple times and transferred to both the pan-Armenian fund and the soldiers' safety fund. At this moment, about 530 million drams have already been transferred, and, of course, all employees have participated in this process.”
When asked whether they had refused bonuses or if they continued to be given, he stated that they did not refuse last month, that they were given, collected, and directed according to purpose, and that no bonuses are planned for October. In response to the question of whether they had refused bonuses for the other months, he responded, “No, why should we refuse?”
