New Data on Recruitment of Mercenaries and Combat Instructions: Prosecutor's Office

The advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, reports: “According to the information received, the leader of the mercenary group was a person named Sheikh Ibrahim. Under his leadership, they were transferred to another military unit, where they were joined by another 500 Syrian Arabs who had come to fight for pay, along with Turkish and Azerbaijani soldiers.

In the unit, they were divided into 10 groups, the composition and number of which were determined by Abu Hamshan, who is the main commander of this unit and the mercenaries transferred from Syria to Azerbaijan. He informed that they will be engaging in battles against Armenians and instructed that in the event of an attack, no Armenian should be spared, and everyone should be “slaughtered” and killed. Such instructions were also received from Turkish and Azerbaijani soldiers present in the unit. According to Youssef El Abed El Haji, they were promised a payment of 100 US dollars for each severed head of an Armenian.
