Turkey Sold Azerbaijan $101 Million Worth of Defense Products in One Month

In October 2020, Turkey exported $101.209 million worth of defense and aviation products to Azerbaijan. This marks a new peak in the volume of defense product exports to Azerbaijan this year. The previous month, the figure was $77 million, in August it was $36 million, and in July only $278,000. This information was reported by Razm.info.

The report on October exports was published on the official website of the Turkish Exporters Assembly.

It should be noted that on October 28, reports emerged that Azerbaijan is also using Turkish Kargu-type kamikaze drones, with at least 28 units. Photographs reportedly taken in Azerbaijan of Turkish-made Kargu quadcopters were shared on the Turkish Diavn-i Harp Telegram channel.

The Kargu drones could potentially be one of the items purchased among the defense products in October, although this is not a definitive claim, and it's quite possible that other purchases were made as well.

The Kargu kamikaze drones were first showcased in May 2017 and were delivered to Turkey's special forces for training purposes in December of the same year. The device is equipped with a laser rangefinder, with a maximum flight distance of 5 km, a flight duration of about 15-30 minutes, a maximum speed of 72 km/h, a flight ceiling of 2.8 km, and a combat action ceiling of 500 m.
