Guests of Shirak FC Assaulted HFFC Delegate, Followed by Referee and Observer Attack: HFFC
The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has issued an official statement regarding incidents that occurred during two matches of the Premier League’s 10th round.
“Unacceptable and highly condemnable incidents took place during two matches of the VBET Armenian Premier League’s 10th round. On October 30 in Gyumri, during the match between Noah and Shirak, a delegate from the FFA was assaulted while carrying out his direct responsibilities by guests from Shirak FC. The next day, on October 31, after the match between Gandzasar-Kapan and Van, representatives from Gandzasar-Kapan assaulted both the match referee and one of the FFA observers.
Such cynical behavior from the representatives of clubs participating in competitions held under the auspices of the FFA is unacceptable even under ordinary circumstances. In a time of war, when maintaining internal cohesion is even more critical, this is simply disgraceful.
The FFA has already initiated an internal investigation to clarify the details of the incidents and will impose the most severe penalties within its jurisdiction in both cases. The FFA strongly condemns the events that took place and once again urges the football community, members of the football family, to adhere to the rules of fair play and to not disrupt internal unity during these already difficult wartime days,” the statement reads.
