COVID-19 Negative Test for Entering Armenia Must Be No More Than 72 Hours Old
The Armenian government has introduced changes regarding the process of self-isolation and COVID-19 testing for those entering the country, according to the Armenian Health and Labor Inspection Authority.
Accordingly, if an individual presents a COVID-19 negative test result that is no more than 72 hours old upon entering Armenia, along with supporting documentation, they will be exempt from self-isolation.
If a COVID-19 negative test is not available, the individual is required to take a test at the airport or at the sampling points located at land border crossing points and must self-isolate until a negative result from the PCR test is obtained.
Under the new government decision, travelers entering Armenia must present a certificate of a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 that is no more than 72 hours old. The certificate must be in Armenian, Russian, or English and should be accompanied by a signed and sealed form that includes all contact details of the organization that conducted the test, the name of the director, the name and surname of the tested individual, the identification document number, date of birth, and test result.
The Health and Labor Inspection Authority will conduct an immediate examination at the border crossing point (including remote temperature measurements, external examination, and additional inquiries in case of clinical symptoms characteristic of infection) and verify the presence of the certificate.
If the examination results indicate relevant symptoms, the individual will be hospitalized. If the specified certificate is not available and hospitalization is not needed, in all other cases, the individual is subject to sampling for PCR testing at the airport or at land border crossing sampling points and must self-isolate until a negative PCR test result is obtained.
The sampling points will carry out the sampling and enter the individual's data and self-isolation registration into the ARMID system based on the identification document, verifying the accuracy of the contact phone number by calling the indicated number.
After sampling, the sampling point will provide the individual with a document confirming the sampling and self-isolation registration. The cost of the PCR test is covered by the arriving individual.
The results of the PCR test will be recorded in the ARMID system and provided to the tested individual no later than 48 hours. In the case of a negative PCR test result, the individual will be released from self-isolation.
