Belgian MP Visits Artsakh and Armenia with Journalists, Meets 2 Presidents
Under the initiative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's (ARF) European Office for the Armenian Cause, from October 28 to 30, Belgian Federal Parliament member Georges Dallemagne and a group of Belgian journalists visited the Republics of Artsakh and Armenia. The delegation was accompanied by Harout Shirinyan, the Public Relations Officer of the ARF European Offices, and Petros Petrosyan, the former secretary of the Belgian Armenian Cause Committee.
Georges Dallemagne is one of the first European MPs to visit Artsakh since the war unleashed by Azerbaijan. During the visit, the Belgian MP held meetings with the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Arthur Tovmasyan, and Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan.
During his meeting with President Arayik Harutyunyan, Dallemagne stated, “I brought with me to Artsakh the support of the French-speaking friendship group of Belgium with Artsakh, as well as the support of many Belgian colleagues for the people of Artsakh. Artsakh is heroically defended from the Azerbaijani army, which is supported by mercenaries, jihadists, and the Erdoğan regime of Turkey. The latter are common enemies for our two democratic countries. Europe must do everything to stop the massacres and war crimes against Armenians.”
In Yerevan, the delegation met with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, where they discussed the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and the involvement of Turkey and international terrorists in the war.
