Robert Kocharian Diagnosed with Coronavirus, Trip to Moscow Postponed

The proposal for Robert Kocharian to travel to Moscow was made by the second and third Presidents of Nagorno-Karabakh. The President acknowledged the appropriateness of this proposal; however, his exit from the country was restricted due to known circumstances.

After discussions with Prime Minister Arkadi Ghukasian and Bako Sahakyan, the court permitted President Kocharian to leave the country (with a deadline for departure limited to before November 7) and returned his passport.

Robert Kocharian intended to travel to Moscow in the coming days and underwent a COVID test, which is mandatory for entry into the Russian Federation. The test result was positive, which came as a complete surprise as he had no symptoms of the illness and continues to have none.

Unfortunately, under the current circumstances, traveling to Moscow and organizing various meetings has become temporarily impossible. Currently, President Kocharian is in self-isolation, but he is doing everything in his power to contribute to the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh.
