Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Receives Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has received Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Political Affairs. This was reported by the Prime Minister's office.

The Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Araghchi to Yerevan. During the conversation, he emphasized that Armenia values its friendly relations with Iran highly and conveyed his regards to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, and the friendly government of Iran.

In turn, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed the warm greetings and wishes for peace from the President of Iran. The importance of strong friendly ties with Armenia was underscored. He presented Iran’s approaches to overcoming the current situation in the region, expressing deep concern over the ongoing military operations.

Mr. Araghchi expressed his condolences regarding the casualties among the civilian population and condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure and settlements. The interlocutors exchanged views on regional security issues.

Both sides expressed concern over the involvement of international terrorists from the Middle East in military operations, considering it a threat with expansion potential that jeopardizes the overall security of the region. Prime Minister Pashinyan appreciated Iran's balanced and constructive approach to regional issues.
