Is Russia Ready to Send Peacekeepers to Karabakh?
The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov has refrained from answering the question of whether President Vladimir Putin has proposed to send Russian peacekeepers to the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh during discussions with the leaderships of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as reported by Interfax.
Peskov stated that the Russian President touches upon the broadest aspects regarding potential resolutions in his communications with both Baku and Yerevan counterparts. At the same time, the president's press secretary emphasized that 'any peacekeeping force can only be brought to the conflict zone with the consent of both parties.'
When asked whether Russia is ready to send its peacekeepers to the conflict zone if the agreement of all parties is secured, Peskov said, 'I would not make any hypothetical conclusions here.'
