Come Down from the Sky and Live by the Laws of Real War: Senor Hasratyan
Senor Hasratyan, the former spokesperson of the Artsakh Defense Army, wrote on his Facebook page: "...War is not romance..." These words belong to the late Anatoly Zinevich, a general-lieutenant of the Armenian army who witnessed three wars in different corners of the world. The reason I remember this today is due to the current reality in Artsakh...
This reality cannot be truthfully conveyed without at least having been in Stepanakert, let alone the trenches... Otherwise, any writing about war and its heroes will belong to the realm of romance. Unfortunately, I seem to encounter such 'romantics' frequently on social media these days...
I urge the authors of those posts (especially the male ones) to come down from the sky and live by the laws of real war. They should try to look into the eyes of war not from hundreds of kilometers away in their office windows but from the observation post of the soldier or militia protecting our homeland.
Remember, any post or analysis born of imagination, even if pursued with 'noble' intentions, can have negative repercussions on the developments taking place at the frontline.
