Azerbaijan's Objective is to Ethnically Cleanse Artsakh and Exterminate its Indigenous Population: Anna Naghdalyan
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reaffirms its principled stance that the existence of the population of Artsakh cannot be under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan, during a press conference held on October 29.
“The statements made by the President of Azerbaijan and the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces that we are witnessing demonstrate that Azerbaijan's goal is to ethnically cleanse Artsakh, to exterminate its indigenous population, and to have Artsakh without that indigenous population. The existence of the population of Artsakh cannot be under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan. From the very first day of the large-scale aggression against Artsakh, Azerbaijan's actions have been accompanied by gross violations of the rules of warfare and international humanitarian law, which are more than evident,” Naghdalyan stated.
Naghdalyan added that the use of cluster munitions against the peaceful population of Artsakh is among these war crimes.
