The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Turkey's Statement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the claims made by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, stated that Armenia and Artsakh, unlike their two neighbors (Azerbaijan and Turkey), are not harboring but rather fighting against terrorists. This was written by the spokeswoman of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan, on her Facebook page.
“No longer able to conceal the undeniable fact of importing international jihadist terrorists from Syria and Libya into the South Caucasus region, Turkey again resorts to openly false and provocative accusations to mislead the international community. The Turkish Ministry of Defense's claims that Armenia and Artsakh are allegedly supported by foreign mercenaries reflect the impotent essence of Turkey's military-political leadership,” Naghdalyan wrote.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the Armenian side firmly rejects Turkey's actions aimed at the immediate removal of international terrorist organizations from the South Caucasus and the destabilization of the region. We strongly condemn the joint efforts of Turkey and Azerbaijan, countries that sponsor terrorism, to turn their nations into centers of international terrorism and spread this plague throughout the region, which necessitates close cooperation among all forces interested in regional security.
Armenia and Artsakh, unlike our two neighbors, are not harboring but are fighting against terrorists,” the statement reads.
Since Azerbaijan launched military operations against Artsakh on September 27, with the support of Turkey and mercenary terrorists, ceasefires have been declared three times—on October 10 under Russia's mediation, on October 18 under France's mediation, and on October 26 under the United States' mediation. However, Azerbaijan violated these ceasefires within minutes of their implementation, launching diversionary attacks and shelling the frontline and civilian settlements.
