Significant Destruction Recorded in Stepanakert, One Casualty in Shushi: Artsakh Human Rights Defender
On October 28, the Azerbaijani armed forces struck various areas of Stepanakert and Shushi more than 15 times, deliberately targeting the Maternity and Children's Health Center and several residential and public facilities, reports the Artsakh Human Rights Defender.
“One civilian casualty and two injuries were recorded in Shushi, while the humanitarian impact in Stepanakert is still being assessed. Significant destruction has been reported in Stepanakert, including at the Maternity and Children's Health Center,” stated the Artsakh Republic Human Rights Defender.
The Human Rights Defender of Artsakh affirms that the Azerbaijani armed forces continue to deliberately commit war crimes against the civilian population, now even targeting the Maternity and Children's Health Center. These new crimes are a consequence of the international community's tolerance towards previous offenses, which has given rise to actions by the Azerbaijani side. Therefore, both Azerbaijan and the international community bear responsibility for these crimes,” the statement from the Artsakh Human Rights Defender concludes.
