The Nature of the War Has Changed: Ministry of Defense Representative

The war continues and has changed its nature to a certain extent. Our armed forces are no longer fighting at the same intensity, complexity, and speed, but they are engaged in difficult battles in the mountains, forests, and gorges. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Artak Davtyan, during a press conference at the Armenian Unified Information Center.

“Several diversion groups have been neutralized today, and some have fled, leaving behind certain equipment. The enemy has lost its significant numerical advantage and technological superiority. This is due to various factors: first, the terrain; second, the improvement of our skills and experience,” said Davtyan.

Regarding the situation on the front line, the Ministry of Defense representative reported that this morning Azerbaijani military forces continued offensive operations in different directions. Several settlements have also come under shelling.

“Today, the enemy attempted to carry out certain attacks in the Berdzor direction, as well as to approach the state border of the Republic of Armenia from the south, but the incursions were repelled. The struggle against diversion groups in the villages continues, typically involving small groups armed with light weapons. After the strikes from our units, they retreat through the forests and mountains, trying to develop in other directions. Combat operations in this direction continue with low intensity in a 24-hour rhythm. After achieving some success in the plains, the Azerbaijani armed forces are trying to develop operations in forested and mountainous terrain, which is not so easy, resulting in a more complicated and difficult tactical struggle,” announced Artak Davtyan.
