Stable Tensions Persist in Upper Askeran Region, Reports Artsakh Emergency Service

On the night of October 26 to 27, the situation remained relatively calm in all settlements of Artsakh, as reported by the Artsakh Emergency Service. However, overall, stable tensions continue to exist in the upper Askeran region.

It is reminded that on September 27, Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack on Artsakh, targeting the civilian population as well.

As of October 26, Artsakh's armed forces have shot down 16 helicopters, 24 planes, 220 drones, and destroyed 600 units of armored vehicles, primarily tanks, along with 86 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, 6 TOS-1A heavy flamethrower systems, 4 Smerch rocket systems, and 1 Uragan multiple rocket launcher.

The adversary has incurred over 6,674 casualties. Preliminary data indicate that 974 Armenian soldiers have perished.

Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructures in both Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in 2 civilian deaths in Gegharkunik, 40 civilian deaths in Artsakh, and 120 civilians injured. Preliminary reports suggest serious damage to over 6,700 private properties, more than 640 vehicles, and around 1,110 infrastructure, public, and production-related facilities.

Journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured as a result of Azerbaijan's shelling. A state of war has been declared in Armenia and Artsakh since September 27. Three humanitarian ceasefires have been announced, but Azerbaijani armed forces have violated them each time.
