Red Cross Has Not Been Able to Retrieve Bodies and Wounded Individuals, Zara Amatuni

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has not had the opportunity to begin the process of retrieving bodies and wounded individuals from the area of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict this morning.

In an interview with 'Armenian Time', Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the ICRC Armenia office, stated that the decision to initiate and carry out such operations rests not with them, but with the parties involved. 'The agreement, as well as security guarantees, must be provided by the parties, so that we can carry out operations; such actions have not yet begun,' she said.

According to Amatuni, since September 27, there has been no opportunity to retrieve bodies or wounded individuals from the battlefield at any time. The primary condition, maintaining a ceasefire, has not been ensured.
