We Just Welcomed French MPs in the National Assembly and Said Everything: Nazaryan
We just welcomed the French MPs in the National Assembly and said everything. This was announced by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Lena Nazaryan, on her Facebook page.
“Some people mock the fact that various unknown and small towns around the world defend the right of the Armenian population of Artsakh to self-determination, making statements about recognizing the Republic of Artsakh and against the military aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey. First, it is necessary to show basic human appreciation towards those communities and people who do not view the issue from the perspective of realpolitik and their state's interests, but act on a level of solidarity and do what they can. They are doing what they can. We appeal for the world to recognize us, and recognized but small communities respond, while citizens of unrecognized communities remain dissatisfied, as if questioning us what can you do, we don’t even know your place on the map...
The council of the Austrian town of Raiding, which I am hearing about for the first time, has transferred 5,000 USD to the foundation. Let any council in Armenia contribute even 1 dram to other countries in need. What kind of arrogance is this, and where does this contempt come from towards people and communities for whom we are just as small as they are for us? I also appreciate the efforts of our compatriots who have been holding protests in various European countries in recent days so that our voices can be heard in those towns. And I want to encourage that as well by talking about all this.
We just welcomed the French MPs in the National Assembly and said everything. We mentioned that as a member of the UN Security Council, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, and as a great power of Europe, a lot depends on France. But we also thanked them for the fact that residents of French towns have already listened to our voice.
Therefore, I ask you to stop wearing down, paralyzing living energy, and devaluing efforts of people that might seem small. Be silent in your actions and at least this time do not comment on anything in my area. I will do what I can, and I am grateful to all who are with us today,” she wrote.
