Artak Beglaryan Visits Shelters in Stepanakert and Shushi

On October 23-24, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, visited citizens living in several shelters in Shushi and Stepanakert and inquired about their problems and the conditions of the shelters. This was reported by the staff of the Artsakh Human Rights Defender.

Artak Beglaryan emphasized that due to the war crimes of the Azerbaijani armed forces, the majority of the population in Artsakh is forced to live in shelters, suffering numerous hardships.

He noted that the Human Rights Defender's staff and other authorized bodies are working daily to support the population living in humanitarian severe conditions. Through the operational hotline and visits, citizens' issues are addressed and necessary assistance is provided across all sectors.

The Defender stressed that his representatives in Yerevan are also actively cooperating with the staff of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and other bodies and organizations to assess the needs of Artsakh inhabitants who have relocated to Armenia and protect their rights.

In response to questions raised by the population, the Human Rights Defender mentioned that within the framework of his authorities, efforts are being made in collaboration with Armenian, diasporic, and foreign partners to inform international organizations and human rights defenders about the situation created in Artsakh due to Azerbaijan's aggression and to mitigate the consequences of the humanitarian disaster.
