Zohrab Mnatsakanyan Meets with U.S. National Security Advisor
On October 23, during his working visit to the United States, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.
During the meeting, the Armenian Foreign Minister informed the U.S. National Security Advisor about the situation created in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone due to the large-scale war unleashed by Azerbaijan, and the mass targeting of the civilian population and infrastructure by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during military operations.
Mnatsakanyan expressed grave concern regarding Turkey's expansionist policy towards the South Caucasus, which aims to turn the region into a new hotspot of instability, using Azerbaijan as a foothold. He emphasized that Turkey’s direct military involvement in the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, along with the influx of foreign militant terrorists from the Middle East, poses a serious threat to the security of the entire region.
Both sides highlighted the necessity of fulfilling the agreements reached on the immediate cessation of hostilities. They agreed that a peaceful resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is only possible within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship endowed with an international mandate.
