Turkey Will Not Consider the US Stance on the C-400 Issue: Erdogan

Turkey intends to continue testing the C-400 missile defense systems acquired from Russia and will not take into account the stance of the United States on this issue. This was stated by the President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, to reporters after Friday prayers, as reported by TASS.

“The information about the C-400 tests is correct. The US approach does not concern us; we will not ask them. Greece has the S-300; does the US ask Greece about this topic? No. The C-400 tests will continue, and we will surely go our own way,” Erdogan emphasized.

On October 16, Turkey conducted tests of the C-400 missile systems not far from the city of Sinop, on the northern coast of the Black Sea. Following this, Washington expressed hope that Ankara would not integrate the Russian systems into its arsenal. Otherwise, as stated by the US State Department, serious consequences in the security sphere await them.
