Mourning on Azerbaijani Facebook as National Hero Killed, Says Karen Vrtanesyan

Editor of Razminfo, Karen Vrtanesyan, posted on his Facebook page: “For several hours now, there has been mourning in the Azerbaijani section of Facebook. Azerbaijan's national hero, Colonel Shukur Hamidov, was killed near Gubadli. He received the title of hero for the April 2016 clashes. A total of three individuals received the title of national hero for the April War; one posthumously, while Shukur and the commander of the 2nd Corps, Mayis Barkhudarov, were the other two.

As one Azerbaijani user commented, 'Only Mayis remains [alive].'
