Former MP, head of the Meghri police department from 1991 to 1995, member of the Armenian National Congress, and former political prisoner David Matevosyan has died. This news was shared on Facebook by his daughter, Hermine Matevosyan.
“My father, who dedicated his life to building a free and happy Armenia, died for the sake of Armenia,” she wrote.
In his last interview, David Matevosyan stated that the ongoing war in Artsakh should come to an end through political intervention; otherwise, both sides would suffer immensely. He expressed sorrow that his generation was unable to resolve the Artsakh conflict and left it for their children: “Unfortunately, we are losing a generation twice over.”
