Azerbaijanis Report on the Death of Colonel Shükür Həmidov

Reports are circulating among Azerbaijani social media users about the death of Colonel Shükür Nəriman oğlu Həmidov, a participant in the April War and recognized as a "National Hero of Azerbaijan." The information is also being shared by pages that operate within the "official line" of Azerbaijan. Official sources have not commented on this news.

The posts indicate that Həmidov was killed during battles taking place in the direction of Qubadlı. It is noteworthy that Həmidov was awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan" after the April War in 2016. At that time, he was still a lieutenant colonel and the commander of the 706th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

It was reported that Həmidov participated in operations to capture the "Lele Tepe" heights in southeastern Artsakh, for which he was awarded.
