20 Terrorists from 'At-Takfir wal-Hijra' Identified in Karachay-Cherkessia and Dagestan
The Security Federal Service of Russia has apprehended terrorists in Dagestan and Karachay-Cherkessia who were calling for the establishment of a caliphate. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The number of those detained exceeds twenty.
Earlier, the federal security service reported that the activities of two cells of international terrorists from 'At-Takfir wal-Hijra' had been prevented in Karachay-Cherkessia and Dagestan, which urged the rejection of secular authorities and the establishment of a caliphate. Islamist militants were found in possession of three grenades, three pistols, various caliber cartridges, cold weapons, as well as extremist literature.
Operational officers entered private areas, raiding homes and detaining radicals. During one of the arrests in Dagestan, officers had to break down the door of an apartment in a multi-story building.
