Human Rights Defender's Working Groups Visit Shelters of Citizens from Artsakh
The working groups of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia have conducted their regular visits to the shelters of peaceful residents who have relocated from Artsakh to Armenia due to attacks by the armed forces of Azerbaijan. The visits, taking place in Yerevan and other regions, aim to assess the needs and support the protection of rights of these individuals.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, the working groups consisted of lawyers, doctors, and psychologists who evaluated the primary needs of the displaced individuals and assessed their applications. They examined issues related to the social and health care needs of the arrivals from Artsakh, as well as questions concerning children's education and the rights of the elderly.
Many individual problems raised by residents in the shelters were addressed on the spot. In addition to the visits, the staff of the Human Rights Defender is also handling issues concerning our compatriots from Artsakh by discussing hotline calls and individual complaints.
Written recommendations will be presented to state bodies regarding the issues recorded during ongoing monitoring.
