Call on Azerbaijan and Turkey to Refrain from Undermining Ceasefire Efforts
Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a manipulative statement attempting to present Azerbaijan and Turkey's rejection of the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue as the stance of the Armenian side.
The military aggression of Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh, with direct involvement from Turkey and the terrorists it sponsors, aims at the annihilation of the indigenous population of Artsakh and has been accompanied by numerous violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes since day one. These actions necessitate the complete provision of existential security for the population of Artsakh.
The Republic of Armenia consistently supports the unconditional implementation of the ceasefire agreements reached through the mediation of the leaders of the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, as stated in the announcements of October 10 and 17.
Always advocating from positions that exclude the military resolution of the conflict, we once again emphasize that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue can be settled exclusively through peaceful means within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group with international mandate.
We call on Azerbaijan and its sponsor Turkey to refrain from actions aimed at undermining the efforts of the international community to establish a verifiable ceasefire regime and from attributing blame to the Armenian side as part of their traditional political strategy, as stated in the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
