Are Volunteers Going to the Frontline Tested? A Response from the Ministry of Health Representative
The representative of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia, epidemiologist Lusine Paronyan, was asked today whether there is a need for volunteers heading to the frontline to be tested in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the front lines.
"You know that in Armenia, an epidemiological investigation is conducted for each recorded case, all contacts are identified and subjected to self-isolation. This data is also transmitted to the Ministry of Defense to prevent the leakage of the virus to the frontline as much as possible. However, since it is not always known who is going when, it is not deemed appropriate to organize testing. Continuous medical monitoring and examinations are carried out by our colleagues from the Ministry of Defense and Artsakh," stated Lusine Paronyan.
