UEFA Bans Matches Under Its Jurisdiction in Armenia and Azerbaijan
UEFA has indefinitely suspended the holding of club and national team matches under its jurisdiction in the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced on UEFA's official website.
The decision is linked to the ongoing military operations in Artsakh. The football federations of both countries will need to propose alternative venues for their teams' home matches.
It is noted that UEFA will monitor the developments closely. This decision does not apply to the four matches scheduled for next summer's European Championship final stages in Baku.
It is worth mentioning that the Armenian national team was supposed to play the return match against North Macedonia in the group stage of the Nations League on November 18 in Yerevan.
