Talishes and Lezgins Leave the Azerbaijani Army: Prefer Imprisonment Over Dishonorable Death

The Azerbaijani army is rapidly disintegrating. The issue lies not only in the formidable defense of the Artsakh army, but also in the revolt of Talishes, Lezgins, and other minority representatives who are being sent to the front lines by Baku’s dictator, seeking to increase the casualty numbers among the country’s autonomous peoples. TolishMedia reports on this situation.

However, members of these minorities are unwilling to sacrifice their lives for the dictator, his regime, and Azerbaijan in general. As a result, there are increasingly large-scale desertions of Talish and Lezgin soldiers directly from the front lines.

For example, Talish recruits sent to the village of Gizilabad initially refused to go into battle, where Azerbaijani commanders had ordered them to fight. Subsequently, they left the village in small groups and fled back to their native Lerik. Similar situations have arisen with Lezgins, who were forcibly sent into the 'meat grinder.'

Desertion from the front lines has become a more frequent behavior among soldiers recruited from Azerbaijan's minority populations. This not only presents a serious obstacle for the Azerbaijani military command in carrying out military operations but also creates conditions for significant social unrest, ultimately threatening the existence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
