Sotk-Karvachar Highway Closed for Safety Reasons

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that the highways within Armenia are accessible. However, due to safety considerations for citizens, the Sotk-Karvachar highway is closed.

According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is only open for freight transport due to the state of emergency.

Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia indicates that the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. This ban does not apply to cargo transport.
