We Reiterate, Artsakh Will Never Be Part of Azerbaijan: Sharmazanov

Edward Sharmazanov, spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and former Vice President of the National Assembly (NA), reaffirmed the RPA’s stance on the Artsakh issue in a video address to the Armenian public today.

"Dear compatriots, taking into account the current situation, we appeal to you. The Republican Party’s position on the Artsakh issue is well known; it has been voiced several times and has not changed.

1. Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan. We repeat, Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan. We have held this position both when we were in power and after the change of government, and today.

2. There is no alternative to the full and mandatory realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh. This means that the people of Artsakh must decide their status themselves.

3. The Republican Party reaffirms that any alternative to a comprehensive solution to the Artsakh issue is unacceptable for us and cannot be acceptable," stated Edward Sharmazanov.
