"Let them go worry in another country. Clear actions are needed". Protest in front of the EU embassy

A group of citizens staged a protest in front of the EU embassy in Armenia, demanding the recognition of Artsakh's independence. Reading a message directed to the EU, one of the participants declared that the international recognition of Artsakh's independence is an urgent necessity considering the humanitarian disaster at hand.

“We condemn the neutrality of those countries that argue that Artsakh is not recognized, which has resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, including children and women. The ethnic cleansing threat to the Armenian population in their historical lands is imminent,” he stated.

Another participant emphasized that international organizations should no longer just express concern about the situation in Artsakh, as clear actions are needed. “Today, we are not here to hear concerns but to demand accountability from those bodies that have specific functions regarding this situation. If international organizations in Armenia are limited to calls directed at both sides or merely expressing concern, let them go worry in another country. We no longer tolerate such behavior and demand a clear set of actions that stem from their obligations. Stop your calls, move to the next phase, conduct analyses, call things by their names, and take concrete actions,” one of the protesters stated.

Three participants from the protest were invited inside by the EU delegation to meet with EU Ambassador Andrea Victorini. The protesters announced that the actions would be ongoing and that demonstrations are taking place in front of several other embassies in a joint effort to achieve the recognition of Artsakh.
