Iran Denounces Beheading of Individuals in Terrorist Fashion: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Torture of Armenian Soldiers
The official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, has addressed the cases of torture and atrocities committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces against Armenian soldiers, referencing the "disturbing photographs" that have emerged online.
The discussion involves evidence of the beheading of Armenian prisoners of war and their execution, as well as strikes against civilian facilities. Khatibzadeh emphasized that Iran does not tolerate such heinous acts characteristic of Takfiri terrorists (the extremist group "At-Takfir wal-Hijra"), including beheading or attacks on cities and innocent people, as reported by the IRNA agency.
Khatibzadeh also called on both sides of the conflict to "observe international rules." Earlier, Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan reported that Azerbaijani soldiers had beheaded an Armenian serviceman a few days ago. On October 16, around 1 PM, an Azerbaijani soldier contacted the brother of the Armenian serviceman and informed him that they had taken his brother captive and had severed his head, promising to share the photograph online. Subsequently, a few hours after the call, the brother discovered the photo of the deceased serviceman on his social media page. There is a strong belief that the Azerbaijani soldiers themselves posted the photo on social media after the execution.
