Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Confirms Bayramov's Meeting with US Secretary of State and OSCE Minsk Group

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that its Minister, Jayhun Bayramov, will meet with the US Secretary of State and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on October 23 in Washington, as reported by TASS.

Earlier, international media had reported on the potential meeting involving US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and the foreign ministers of the conflicting countries, Armenia's Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijan's Jayhun Bayramov. However, the press service of the US Department of State had not responded to TASS's inquiry on whether to confirm or comment on the information about the meeting.

It is noteworthy that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh has escalated since September 27, and currently, clashes continue along the contact line. On October 19, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed their willingness to meet at the negotiating table to discuss the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh.
